The wheel builders ingredients for building a wheel. 1. Add a rim, then a hub, followed by a set of spokes and nipples, ensuring the rim has the same amount of holes as the hub. Now the fun begins, assembling the components to create a work of art, the finished wheel.

The easiest job for a wheel builder (or the customer) is disassembling a wheel for refurbishment. With the use of bolt croppers, simply cut through the spokes BUT, firstly you should check the offset of the rim to the hub. Simply place a straight edge along the side of the hub, then measure the distance from that edge to the rim. Ideally, you should try and save two spokes from both sides of the hub (inside and outside) for patterns.
